PLEASE DO NOT VOTE UNTIL THE 1ST SO ALL ENTRIES HAVE A SHOT

Alright guys time to start submitting your maps between today (the 29th) and tommorow (the 30th). As always try to submit 2-4 pics, I'd say around 800x600 pixels. No post processes in Photoshop. As you submit I'll take your post of information (name/dllink/images) and post the official entry in this main post. Then I'll add you to votes. Try to use this format for easy copying.

Rules

- Play area must be contained within one 1024x1024 grid block
- Stock Half-Life 2 Content only
- Only original maps specifically made for this contest (no recycling)
- Focus on proper Deathmatch gameplay, this is not a 'scene' contest, but make it as pretty as you want

Ok ladies and gentlemen; once you've finished your map completely and utterly upload it here:

You have read and write access but you cannot overwrite previous versions of your map so _only_ upload it on or after the deadline and when you are completely happy with your bsp. If you somehow fuck this up then contact me and I will have to do it manually, but I'll curse the air you breathe if I have to do it. Oh no not the fist!


The server is also up and running at the moment, it's been left open to all to generate a little publicity for the hosts and mapcore.net. However once we have all the maps uploaded we'll password the server and give the information in the "final entry" threads.

Just to give you a run down on the settings the server is running:

timelimit: 10 mins per map
100 tickrate
default everything else

If you have any requests/suggestions get in touch and we'll try and get it sorted out before the deadline. Don't come shouting about something on the actual day because it'll most likely be too late and I'll once again curse the air you breathe.


What day do you want to hold the test on?

I would like to suggest that we have a mapper only test and voting, and then get some general pubbers/non mappers to test it and get them to vote as well and do an average score so we get the full range of opinions. With 10 mins per map I think that is feasible.

Instead of just voting on some screens. I gave a link, all the information needed to upload the maps to a test server so we could actually play them, because 1024 is going to be more about how you use the space instead of just a pretty looking screenshot.

But if nobody wants to do what we were talking about in the thread for the last month or so then fuck it I guess. Just don't expect me to go out of my way to set up any more servers and means of uploading your maps, just so some kids can not bother to pay any attention./

I agree with Rick it would be better to be able to testplay them with others. I have downloaded the 2 first maps and graded them after looks, and planning and such, but gameplay would be better.

There is nothing preventing you from playtesting maps before your vote. However maps need to be submitted by the end of the day regardless to be voted upon. I can hold off on the actual vote until say tommorow?

Nice work Insta :D My map is pretty much done but I won't have the time to add all the entities I wanted :( I'll just finish the 3d sky, add some sounds and submit it tonight then.

(I know there's a bug with the elevators stoping a few units to early (all elevators except one...) but as it wasn't that bad I didn't bother about it.... spent a whole day trying to get those damned elevators to work lol, and as they work okay now I don't want to mess that up. Uhm and yeah-- there's no 3D skybox but there never was any intentions for me to add one either... ^^)
